Blizzard’s popular science fiction RTS game StarCraft, which was released in 1998 and since then was able to sell more than 11 million copies worldwide, is “currently scheduled for a release at the end of this year, Blizzard president Mike Morhaime announced today in an Activision Blizzard pre-E3 conference call.
“We’re targeting an end of year release–this year–for StarCraft 2,” said Morhaime of the PC strategy title. “But as always, we won’t release it until it meets our standards and the expectations of our players.”
This confirms earlier rumors that the first installment of the new StarCraft trilogy, Terrans: Wings of Liberty, will be out in time for this year’s holiday season.
Hulu today released Hulu Desktop, a new application that lets you view and control Hulu media on your desktop Mac or PC.

Hulu Labs release today is Hulu Desktop, a new downloadable application that allows you to find and enjoy your favorite Hulu videos in a rich, full-screen computer window that you can control with your mouse and keyboard or any six-button PC or Mac remote control.
Hulu Desktop was built by a small group on our engineering team (two devs, one designer, one product manager) who asked themselves one day: how can we make it easier for users to immerse themselves in the great shows and movies Hulu is fortunate to have access to? Our answer was to build a new PC and Mac application that gives users the option to step outside of their browser, keyboard and mouse and into something different.

A while ago we already reported that on some AMD Phenom II 720BE processors the 4th core could be enabled. It seems that the very popular Dual Core AMD Athlon X2 7750BE has four cores as well as it is Phenom based, though with two of them disabled.
Yet all can be enabled
This new’ phenomenon’ works exactly the same as back then with the Phenom II 720BE processors. In some older BIOSes you can enable Advanced Clock Calibration on your AMD 790 motherboard and after a reboot … you might end up lucky with four active CPU cores.
Yeah it’s really that simple, your processors will come back as AMD Phenom FX-7750 Quad-Core. Mind you that the two active cores ‘might’ be damaged and that it only works with some AMD 790 motherboards from ASROCK and BIOSTAR.
It’s a bit of a luck of the draw really, can’t hurt to try though. If it doesn’t work, clear CMOS and yu are back to normal.
The biggest challenge however will be finding a 7750 BE to purchase. Currently I can’t find it anywhere in the price lists.
Just a quick heads-up for one of the few first-person shooters I am looking very much forward to being released this year. Lots of new trailers, screenshots and interesting game details about Wolfenstein can be found at the new official web site.
Currently being developed by Raven Software for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, the planned release date is late July of 2009. Wolfenstein is the direct sequel of Return to Castle Wolfenstein and you’re once again playing in the role of B.J. Blazkowicz to reveal the secret surrounding The Veil.

Actor Al Pacino is to collect a career achievement award at the Rome Film Festival which starts on Wednesday.
The Oscar-winner’s new film, Chinese Coffee, will launch the gala, while Italian screen legend Gina Lollobrigida will also be honoured.
The emphasis of this year’s event will be European talent, with British film Easy Virtue – based on a Noel Coward play – premiering in the Italian city.
The festival, which will award a series of prizes, runs until 31 October.
